All I see is a planet - no humans or countries - just air, water, land, and clouds. We are only ‘special’ because rarity confers value, and that makes us undoubtedly worth saving. Planet Earth is the only home we have ever know, and the only planet home to a civilization that we know of, the majestic pale blue dot. Not only are we to blame for arrogantly trashing our planet and jeopardizing our future, but we are the only force capable of saving it, and we must. And that’s scarier than any horror film. As Carl said, “the trapdoor beneath our feet swings open”
